The game keeps your progress in a 45-letter password that you have to write down. With this patch, in the password room you pick one of three slots and the game is saved to the cartridge's flash. On the title screen, L no longer takes you to the typing screen: you get the slot menu. What gets saved is those same 45 letters, and the game checks them with its own checksum, as if they had been typed.

A damaged slot breaks nothing: it gives the game's own THAT IS THE WRONG..., like a mistyped password.

python tools/imagen.py galious.rom
You get galious_yamanooto.rom (256 KB), ready to flash from the start of the flash: it boots the game on its own, with no menu. Flashing it replaces the menu and games on the cartridge. In openMSX:
openmsx -cart galious_yamanooto.rom -romtype Yamanooto
Without Python: apply ips/galious_yamanooto.ips (1028 bytes) to the ROM with any IPS tool (Lunar IPS, Floating IPS, RomPatcher.js) and you get the same image. It only carries what the patch changes, nothing of the game.
make test runs the 10 tests, 5 per edition: the .bin files come from their .asm, the patcher refuses another ROM and, with the ROM in the root, outside the stretches the patcher declares the game is the original byte for byte, the image is the reference one and the IPS gives that same image.
bladeba's Enhanced (v1.04, for MSX2: new SCREEN 5 graphics, SCC music, 512 KB Konami SCC) saves the same way: the same three slots, keys 1, 2 and 3, and the menus come out in the game's own font. The YES/NO hand does not show in the save menu, because you choose with the numbers.

Without Python, ips/galious_enhanced_yamanooto.ips (911 bytes) applied to the Enhanced ROM.galious_enhanced): save with items in one slot without touching the others, close, reopen and load, and the items come back. Not tested on a real MSX yet.ld (6000h/8000h/A000h),a, all in bank 0) move to the Konami SCC registers of the same window (7000h/9000h/B000h): that is the mode a Yamanooto starts in, so the game boots on its own from the start of the flash.[0xA5][45 letters] in a 64 KB flash sector (relative bank 0x18). To change one, the start of the sector is copied to RAM, the sector is erased, reprogrammed and read back to check it; if it does not match, FLASH ERROR.It comes from nPackR, which uses it to put the game in a collection. Here it comes on its own: the image boots the game directly, with no menu. GPL v3 licence (LICENSE) and a non-commercial note (NOTICE.md).
In openMSX and on a real MSX with a real Yamanooto: pabibiris tested it and approves it.
